Reflections on May and a beautiful Mandala

Oh my goodness did June ever sneak up on me! One minute I had 3 glorious weeks of May left, and then suddenly the calendar said it was June! Did I get kidnapped to the realm of the fan or something? Try as I might, I can’t seem to explain why May disappeared in the blink of an eye.

I always think of May as the month of flowers. From May baskets to planting seeds, pruning trees to eating weeds, this month marks the height of spring’s glorious proliferation. This month, I tend to put flowers in everything - whether it’s gourmet chocolate flower bark or colorful floral shortbread edible flowers just make life a little more special. I also associate this month with the color purple, which makes a grand entrance in many of the recipes I make this time of year. Give these vegan, gluten free, all-purple pansy salad rolls a try if you don’t believe me. Lilacs, too, serve as tasty inspiration as in this blueberry lilac crepe cake!

Another theme that is prevalent to me at this time of year is body positivity and self care. With swimsuit season upon us, many are concerned with their “beach bodies.” (Here’s my secret to getting the perfect beach body: put your body on a beach!) One wonderful way to celebrate the season is with a dynamic salad and dose of body positivity.

Finally, don’t forget to work in some magic, such as this special sugar infused with mystery or magical color-changing wild violet lemonade. From spring blooms to foraged morels to wild salad greens and more, May certainly has many splendors to share with us. It’s been my absolute honor this month to be able to share some of them with you! I deeply appreciate all of the support I get each month, whether you are one of my patrons or not. Every like, follow, comment, or contribution truly does mean so much to me, and reminds me why I spend all of my best days creating more wonder to share with all of you. How wonderful it is to be part of such an awesome community.
