Secret Recipe: White Witch's Delight Cake
Patrons, do I ever have a treat for you this weekend! I've been conceptualizing this cake for quite some time, and it was really fun to finally put it all together. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Little Turkish Delight-inspired gems of elderflower-champagne and rose-rose gelatin peek out from a soft vanilla mousse, sandwiched by tender sponge cakes. Hoar frost crisps add a pleasant crunch and the whole thing is crowned with an icicle crown made of sugar! It looks impressive, but is surprisingly easy to create. I'll guide you through every step of the process. Let's make some magic!
If the entrance to Narnia were somewhere in the U.S. and the White Witch was looking to appeal to our North American nostalgia, I believe this cake is what she would prepare. It’s a combination of Turkish Delight and the retro Crown Jewel Cake that so many remember fondly. So come with me into a stark white landscape and learn of the beauty of winter - with or without Christmas. Come dance through the snow and admire the frosty sparkles in the air, then warm up with a hot drink and a slice of this special dessert. Come taste the sweetness of nostalgia, of storytelling, and of your own imagination.
